Cavaliers Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Saturday, February 04, 2012
Guard Kyrie Irving might not be the only player who'll be getting postseason hardware. Irving appears to be the favorite to be the NBA's Rookie of the Year. If he continues to play at his current level, he could make a mockery of the race. If one listens to coach Byron Scott, the Cavs could be in line for two postseason awards. Guard-forward Alonzo Gee appears to be a legitimate candidate for Most Improved Player. Last year, many wondered if Gee was even an NBA player. When he arrived from the D-League last year, one could see that he was overly athletic and could jump out of the gym. But he had some major flaws to his game. He couldn't make an outside shot and his ball handling was extremely lacking.
